Why LAN Computer Systems AG relies on our services

LAN Computer Systems AG celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. With them, we have found a valuable partner who trusts in our work and products while being able to offer their own customers added value for their IT infrastructures.

We had a conversation with Michael Streminger, Head of Operations at LAN Computer Systems AG and had the opportunity to ask him about the collaboration with us. This interview is the result. 

Six Questions for Michael Streminger 

Sandro Hostettler for Backup ONE: In 2019, we had the pleasure of offering our services to an even broader mass of SMEs through your partnership. What motivated you to implement an initial project with us?

Michael Streminger: For a customer, we were looking for an automated and simple backup solution that would extend the existing on-site backup and make it more secure. For the search for suitable software, we had defined clear KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), which included autonomy and data protection. You were able to guarantee these KPIs with your server package.

Sandro: How did we meet these KPIs?

Michael: Your solution delivers what it promises. The high IT security standards you guarantee and the data location in Switzerland. Not to forget, the great & personal collaboration, since you're a startup and not a large corporation. (laughs)

Sandro: What convinced you about the server package?

Michael: The ability to back up entire server platforms and restore them with just a few clicks, as well as make additional local backups to a dedicated backup NAS. The 1TB data volume should be sufficient to start with.

Sandro: How did the implementation go with your first customer?

Michael: Through the added value created with your product, we were able to relieve and repurpose an existing infrastructure. The implementation went smoothly, and it made sense that the data is primarily backed up and managed on your infrastructure. The previously operated NAS was quickly repurposed as an additional redundant, local data storage.

Sandro: What happened next? Did more customers join?

Michael: The 1TB package quickly became obsolete and was scaled up. Today, we back up close to five terabytes of data on the Backup ONE servers. We also now manage backups for several other companies that we were able to convince of your software.

Sandro: Thank you for the nice exchange. Would you like to say anything in conclusion before the LAN company profile?

Michael: Gladly. It's nice that years after our IT training, we can support each other through business partnerships. We greatly appreciate the personal contact with you and can recommend your backup solution to anyone looking for a suitable cloud backup solution.
