Overview

Disaster Recovery Overview

With Disaster Recovery as a Service, you benefit from a secondary site that remains on standby around the clock and immediately launches your systems in the cloud should your primary site go offline.

Runbooks

Create individual runbooks that define what should happen if your primary site becomes unavailable. The runbooks specify, for example, which systems start in what order and with which configuration.

VPN

To enable the cloud-launched services to connect to your other components, you can pre-define any number of necessary VPN connections (Point to Site or Site to Site).

Failover

When you decide that a failover is necessary, you can start the failover process with just one click. Your secondary site will be ready to use within minutes.

Pay as you go

You only pay for what you need, specifically during failover cases. This involves calculating the consumed compute points for the time your servers are running on our environment.

Public IPs

Acquire any number of fixed public (IPv4) IPs so you can align your failover scenario with these fixed IPs in advance. Fixed IPs can be booked for just CHF 5.00 per month per IP.

Failback

Now that your services are accessible again, you have all the necessary time to get your primary environment back up and running. Once this is done, you can initiate a failback.
How it works

How Disaster Recovery as a Service works

Our Disaster Recovery solution is powerful, yet possibly simpler to set up and operate than you might think.

1

1 Planning

First, you plan which critical systems you want to include in the Disaster Recovery scope.

2

2 Setup

Create a backup of these critical systems. The entire machine including OS is backed up 1:1. Using Continuous Data Protection ensures that in case of a failover, only a few seconds of data are lost.

3

3 Testing

Test your runbooks at your own pace to gain confidence that everything will work exactly as desired in an emergency.

4

4 Auto-Readiness

Your DR environment is now on standby around the clock. As soon as the initially defined conditions occur, your entire server landscape starts in the cloud, connects to other peers via site-to-site or point-to-site VPNs, and ensures seamless takeover of the failed workloads. In the background, you now have sufficient time to restore your primary site while our hardware runs your servers for as long as you need.
