Revolution in Document Management: The OhPAL Success Story

A quiet revolution took place in the Wittenbach parish when the need for digitizing financial management became evident due to extensive church renovations in 2023. The increase in the number of documents led to the inevitable realization that the existing paper-based processes were no longer up to date.

As founder of Infoconsulting Informatik GmbH and inventor of OhPAL, I faced the interesting challenge of developing a solution that would not only be functional but also accepted by employees. The key was maintaining familiar procedures while introducing efficient digital processes.

The created framework made it possible to grant approvals and access invoice information without disrupting existing work methods. At the heart of the transition was OhPAL, a web-based application that works in perfect symbiosis with the existing financial software. The user interface was designed to make the transition easier for employees, while a cloud service in the background ensured secure storage and archiving.

Since all solutions from Infoconsulting Informatik GmbH carry the «swiss made software» label, OhPAL should also be a 100% Swiss solution. The decision to replace Dropbox with FileSync therefore fit very well into the existing concept. After developing the integration myself, I was pleased to find that OhPAL with FileSync met all requirements.

This experience with the Wittenbach parish is a living example of how digital transformation can succeed when it is tailored and developed with user needs in mind. OhPAL represents my company's philosophy: creating simple, smart, and environmentally conscious software solutions that are «swiss made».

From idea to implementation, it was a journey that not only improved workflows in the parish but also shows that change is possible when you put the user at the center.
