Protection Console activity frozen, stop task manually

Description

It may occur that an ongoing activity in the Protection Console does not complete successfully and appears to be stuck. This situation can be attributed to various causes, including unexpected errors or resource constraints. The following steps outline how to attempt to interrupt the ongoing activity.

Solutions


Windows

1. Open the Start menu on the affected machine.
2. Search for «services.msc» and open it as Administrator.
3. Display the «Names» in alphabetical order and look for the following services:

Acronis Agent Core Service
Acronis Managed Machine Service

4. Select each service and click on «Restart Service».
5. Wait a few minutes until the activity shows as failed in the «Protection Console«.
6. Manually restart the activity.


MacOS

1. Open the «Terminal» application.

• You can find this via Spotlight search or in the «Utilities» folder in Launchpad.

2. Enter the following command and press Enter to stop services:

sudo launchctl stop aakore
sudo launchctl stop acronis_mms

• Enter the administrator password when prompted.

3. Now enter the following command and press Enter to start services:

sudo launchctl stop aakore
sudo launchctl stop acronis_mms

• Enter the administrator password when prompted.

4. Wait a few minutes until the activity shows as failed in the «Protection Console«.

5. Manually restart the activity.
