Backup Frequency

Backup frequency refers to how often a data backup is performed. You can select an individual backup frequency for each protection plan you set up. For example, it’s possible to create different protection plans per device (e.g., desktop hourly, archive folder daily, entire system weekly).

Minimum and maximum backup frequencies:

  • Shortest interval between backups: minute-based backup
  • Longest interval between backups: monthly backup
  • Continuous Data Protection (CDP): real-time backup (advanced feature package required)

Data Retention Period

The retention period for backup sets is unlimited. You can freely choose the duration for each protection plan (from 1 day to unlimited). Additionally, you can individually select the strategy for maintaining recovery points. For example, it could look like this:

  • Keep one daily backup for the last 7 days +
  • Keep one weekly backup for the last 4 weeks (e.g., every Sunday) +
  • Keep one monthly backup for the last 12 months +
  • Keep one yearly backup for the last 3 years

You have the option to select hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly retention periods for your backups. Alternatively, you can also choose the number of recovery points.
