Problem
A machine was deleted in the web portal, but the backup storage is not being released.
Note: When a machine is deleted, its backups are not automatically deleted. This is handled this way for security reasons. Backups from removed machines can be deleted manually.
Delete backup data
Once a machine is removed, backups will no longer be performed on it. However, the backup data is not deleted as it might still be needed later. If you want to delete the backups of a deleted machine, please select «Backup» in the portal and choose the backup data you want to delete. Click on «Delete» to start the deletion process.
In the restore portal (Web-Restore) at http://portal.backup.ch/wr, you can also find an overview of all backups present on our servers. CAUTION: THIS ALSO INCLUDES ACTIVE AND NEEDED BACKUPS!
Once the backup data is deleted, the storage will be released within a maximum of 2 hours and can be used by new backup jobs.
